Dear Parents/Caregivers
Meet the Teacher/AGM
A heartfelt thank you to all the parents who attended our Meet the Teacher Evening last Wednesday. The evening began with a BBQ, fostering a wonderful sense of community. This was followed by a parent information session about New Initiatives at St Patrick’s School. I also shared our 2024 Annual Improvement Plan and celebrated our achievements. Parents then had the chance to visit classrooms and speak with their child’s teacher.
As promised, the parent login for UR strong - Friendology is: https://urstrong.com/parents/
Children Safety
Many children are riding scooters to school have been observed not wearing helmets. Please note that wearing a helmet is required by law, even when riding on the footpath. This is not just a school rule. Please ensure your child follows this law or does not use their scooter.
Each child’s safety is our priority. Parents are reminded to follow traffic laws around schools. Cars must travel at 25 km/h when children are present. Please be mindful of street signs, avoid parking on yellow lines or double-parking during pick-up, and refrain from making three-point turns into driveways, as this is unsafe near schools.
School Board Nominations
There are still vacancies on our School Board. If you’d like to contribute to the school’s strategic direction, please complete a Nomination Form, available at the office. You can also call the school to have a form sent home with your child.
The Board meets twice a term, in Weeks 3 and 8, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
NAPLAN
Students in Years 3 and 5 completed their NAPLAN testing this week. Thank you to Ms Bain, our Leader of Learning, and the staff for overseeing the program. The tests covered Literacy and Mathematics.
Results will be shared with families once received. While these tests offer just one snapshot of a child’s ability, they provide valuable data to guide teaching and support learning.
Communication
*Please note that SeeSaw will no longer be used for communication between teachers and individual parents.
Parents should contact teachers via email or call the Office for urgent matters.
SeeSaw will still be used to share class or individual learning and allow parents to comment on their child’s work. Teachers will also send whole class communication and messages. This change is part of our effort to streamline communication.
Please also keep in mind the “Right to Disconnect” Law. Teachers will respond to communication in a timely manner during appropriate hours.
Cybersafety
Keeping children safe online is a significant challenge for parents. Federal and State Governments aim to raise the social media age limit to 16+, though the current limit is 13+. As all primary students are under 13, they should not be on social media. Children may pressure parents or access platforms without permission. It’s vital that adults ensure children’s online safety.

Parent/Teacher/Student Conversations
In Week 10, we will hold our Parent/Teacher/Student Conversations.
Bookings will be available online, and we can assist families needing help with this. These meetings are compulsory, so all families are expected to book a time. If the available times do not suit, please contact your child’s teacher to arrange an alternative meeting before the term ends.
Research shows that students perform better when parents are involved in their learning. These meetings give you the chance to share more about your child as the wonderful person they are.
In all things love

The Leadership Team
Last Sunday the students of the 2025 Sacramental Program were presented to the Croydon Park Parish Community. The children received a prayer book and a special blessing for their sacramental preparation journey.
Children and parents involved are reminded of the Reconciliation workshop on Wednesday 19th March @ Whitefriars School at 7pm.
Students will celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation on Saturday 22nd March @ 11am at St Margaret Mary’s Church OR Saturday 29th March at 11am at St Margaret Mary’s Church.
We pray for God’s blessings as they journey towards being fully initiated members of the Catholic Church.
On Monday, March 17, our school community celebrated the Feast of St Patrick. We came together for prayer and shared the story of St Patrick’s Mission and his deep faith in God.
St Patrick was able to recognise God’s presence in his life even when he was captured, living as a slave and felt powerless.
It was in his darkest times that God’s love gave him strength, courage and hope for a brighter future.
Once St Patrick was free, he dedicated his life to teaching the people of Ireland about God’s love. St Patrick’s story of faith inspires us to recognise the light of God’s presence in and around us.
St Patrick used the shamrock to explain the Holy Trinity: God’s eternal existence in three: The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit.
On Friday 21st March we will hold our Harmony Day celebrations.
Please join us for the morning when we celebrate the many different cultures that make up St Patrick’s School community.
We are a blessed diverse community that is made up of many various cultures and we have a lot to celebrate.
At St Patrick’s School we believe everyone belongs and teach our students The Golden Rule - ‘Treat others the way you would like to be treated’.
We hope to see many of our community members on Friday morning.
God bless and have a lovely week.

National Identity - by 34JB
In 3/4JB our students have been looking at Self-identity and National identity.
They have been finding out some facts about the symbols that represent Australia.
These things include the Australian Flag and the rules around using it, the floral and fauna emblems that represent Australia, The National Anthem and the Australian Coat of Arms.
The photos represent some of the facts that they have learnt through their learning so far!
On Friday the 28th March, all students will be participating in The St Patrick’s Annual Sports Day.
This day will be held completely on St Patrick’s School grounds at normal school hours 8.50am - 3.10pm. (Timetable available on the information form given to your child)
Families are welcome to join us for the day to support their child. A coffee van will be temporarily outside the school grounds available to purchase coffee from about 10am.
We are looking for Parent Helpers during the station rotations. Please indicate on the forms issued to your child, so we know if you can help your child’s group.
Students are encouraged to wear a coloured t-shirt to represent their team colour on the day.
Kind regards

Playgroup, family fun for families with children under 5 years
Playgroup SA has partnered with the Office for the Early Years (Department of Education) to provide free development checks for children aged 12 months to 4 years. The checks provide an opportunity to monitor your child’s development, identify any concerns and celebrate milestones. A development check helps to monitor whether a child is meeting the milestones for their age (such as dressing or talking). Please note this is not a health check.
Please contact Chau Tran 8303 4500 if you would like further information or would like to book in child development check.
A friendly reminder to those families, who do not have a direct debit set up, that Term 1 school fees are due by the last day of Term 1 the 11/4/25
We offer direct debit, BPay, EFTPOS and also direct deductions from Centrelink payments to cater to the changing financial needs of our families at St Patrick’s School. When the direct debit payment option is selected your school fee payment is calculated over the full school year right up until the 31st of December 2025. This means smaller payments are required, making this method the most affordable way to budget for your commitment. Please come into the office or ring me on 83034500 if one of these options would better suit your financial requirements.
School Card 2025 must be applied for online each year and the instructions are in this newsletter. If you have any problems please come and see me if you are having any issues.
If at any time you are having trouble meeting your school fee commitment, or have any queries, please contact me on 8303 4500 to discuss this matter.
